先日Soldとなりましたビクトリアンカーヴドソファ。
ビシッと仕上げてお届けするため、現在メンテナンスの真っ最中です☆
(This Victorian carved settee which was imported to Japan in 2015, and it's been under maintenance for now)

下の写真は、生地を張り替える前に木部のメンテナンスを行っているところです。
ぐらつきや欠損などがあれば修復し、再塗装を施します。
(The photo below shows the maintenance of the wood before changing the fabric. If there are wobbles or defects like missing parts and cracks, repair them and repaint all.)

木部のメンテナンスが終わると、次は座面内部の調整を行います。
状態によって中身を全て新しくすることもありますが、今回はスプリングを残して麻ベルトの交換とクッション材を増やして張り替えることにしました。
(After the maintenance of the wood is completed, checking inside of the seat. Actually depending on the condition, everything inside may be renewed, but this one has been still fine. Therefore we decided to leave the spring and adding cushion material and replace the hemp belt.)

そこには、『John High & Son Upholsterers June 1986』と記されたカードが貼ってありました。
３３年前のカードに書かれた住所はケンブリッジ。。。

半世紀以上に渡って様々な椅子を手掛けておられる職人の大先輩でした。
